Dry Shampoo Review

Dry shampoo is my best friend. It is my go-to. My ride-or-die. So best believe me when I say I’ve tried a lot of different dry shampoo brands. I have tried everything from high-end brands to drugstore brands and decided to rank my favorites. In this post I review five different dry shampoos and rank them below from my least favorite to my favorite. I was honestly shocked by the results and which I liked the best. I hope this review helps those of you on the hunt for a new dry shampoo.

From left to right: IGK First Class, Batiste Original, Kristin Ess, DryBar Detox, Living Proof Perfect Hair Day

5. Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo

This one came in last for me which I was honestly shocked by because some of my holy grail hair products are Drybar brand. This one just did not have lasting results for me. My hair fell flat quickly and yes initially it did a good job soaking up oils but by the end of the day I had to throw on a ball cap.

If you are a fan of the smell of Drybar products you will love the scent. I personally do but I understand not everyone likes it.

Also, it does spray white and powdery so you will have to work it in.

4. Batiste Original Scent Dry Shampoo

This is such a nostalgic product for me. I used it throughout high school and college and it did the trick. Not only is it an affordable price point of $6 but it does a fine job of refreshing your hair. But this one does not have long lasting results for me either.

I also noticed that my hair starts with volume post-spray but then becomes stringy as the day goes on. Yikes!

3. IGK First Class Dry Shampoo

This dry shampoo is the priciest of all but you do get a fair amount of product. I enjoyed the scent of this one and it does a nice job actually leaving your hair feeling clean. But, I do not like how much texture and grit it added to my hair. I would say this dry shampoo would be ideal on days closer to your wash because once I used this my roots were too gritty for my liking.

2. Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo

You either love the smell of this one or despise it. In my case, I do not mind it at all! The name correctly encompasses how this dry shampoo leaves you with a, “Perfect Hair Day.” This one is great for day two hair and beyond because, unlike others, it does not leave a build-up at your roots.

1. Kristin Ess Dry Shampoo

You guys, not to be dramatic but, this dry shampoo is the real deal. It is affordable, smells nice and works wonders on my hair. I would say the formula is comparable to Living Proof’s but it is at a cheaper price point and can be picked up on your next trip to Target. Win, win!

Ever since trying this dry shampoo and actually liking it I have tried a few more of the Kristin Ess products and I am a fan! Definitely give this one a try if you are in the market for a new dry shampoo.

I guess you could say I am a dry shampoo connoisseur.

I hope you all find this post to be helpful. I plan on doing more product review content in the future. Let me know in the comments what your favorite dry shampoo is.
